ADEK awards innovation leaders at Abu Dhabi schools
November 12, 2017, 6:45 am GMTThe Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge awarded 40 innovation leaders from 17 Abu Dhabi school innovation clubs for their efforts in promoting a culture of innovation among students.
ADEK's Innovation Clubs are integrated hubs in terms of equipment, advanced technology and qualified staff aiming to support and encourage students to be innovative, participate in national and international competitions and develop their performance in STEM related subjects.
It also introduces the phases that any inventor may have to go through during the invention process, starting from the imagination/conceptualising phase that is based on teamwork, discussion, brainstorming, problem solving, investigation/research, simulation and modeling skills, moving to production and prototyping and finally product marketing and receiving patent phase.Commenting on the innovation club, Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, advisor to ADEK's chairman said the honouring of innovation leaders reflects ADEK's keenness to recognise high performers who focus on realising ADEK's vision plans and goals.
"ADEK is looking forward to equipping students to become the future generation via necessary tools that enable them to explore their potential," he noted.
