November 22, 2017, 7:05 am GMTDwight School Dubai held its official launch event at The W Dubai Hotel yesterday.
This will be the New York-based IB continuum school's first campus in the Middle East. The school already has branch campuses in Seoul, London and Shanghai.
Dwight School Dubai will be located on a 40,000sqm campus in Al Barsha South. The campus, designed by local partner Bloom Education, will offer facilities such as a 25m pool, basketball courts, tennis and squash courts, a full soccer pitch, a 400m running track, auditorium, and a mix of core academic language, music, performing arts classrooms, specialist labs, and innovation centres.
Dwight Dubai will also offer the inclusive Quest and Spark Tank programmes offered by Dwight New York.
Quest is Dwight's learning support programme, which is designed as additional support beyond the provision the school will routinely offer in terms of differentiation, learning intervention and specialist support. The programme is planned in collaboration with parents and faculty and replaces the need for outside tutors by using a Quest mentor who works with teachers.
Dwight's Spark Tank programme offers a think tank approach to nurture innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership among students based on their interests and strengths.
KHDA approved fees at the school will range from AED 114,000 to AED130,000 for KG to Grade 12.
Admissions for students from KG1 to Grade 9 for the first year are expected to launch this month.
Stephen Spahn, chancellor of The Dwight Schools said: "With a solid foundation of proven results from implementing our educational methods at Dwight campuses around the globe, we are highly committed and strongly motivated to developing and delivering the best and most innovative International Baccalaureate school in the Middle East."
Dwight School Dubai head of school Janecke Aarnaes said: "At Dwight School Dubai, we will create a unique and personalized environment where students can pursue their passions and live their dreams. We will ready our students for a future where they can thrive no matter where in the world they choose to go".
