Doha College celebrates GCSE results
January 17, 2017, 10:55 am GMTDoha College held a celebration evening to recognise students who achieved outstanding results in the 2016 GCSE examinations.
96% of Doha College students achieved five or more A*-C grades in the 2016 examinations, with over half achieving A*-A grades, and over 81% achieving five or more A*-B grades. Three students achieved the highest grades in all 10 of their examinations.
Pranav Pradeep from Doha College scored the highest grade in Qatar in the Economics IGCSE examination in 2016, and was awarded a certificate and trophy by Cambridge International Examinations
The Doha College Highest Year 11 Achievement Award was awarded to Jeeveththaa Thirugnanasambanthar for achieving 10 A* grades.
The results also place Doha College within the top 10% of COBIS schools across the world.
Opening the ceremony, Doha College senior vice principal and head of secondary Paul Young stated: "Doha College students perform outstandingly well in examinations at GCSE and A Level. Our students perform well for many reasons, they don't just have the ability to do well, they work very hard in an inspiring environment, and they are well supported by our experienced staff and very supportive parents. This educational triangle of student, staff and parents is the key to unlocking bright futures."
Doha College principal Steffen Sommer added: "I am very proud of our students and their continued passion and commitment to their learning and development. Our students have established a wonderful platform to build upon as they study for their A-levels and we wish them every success."
