Three Dubai schools win AED120,000 Dubai Solar Schools prize
November 6, 2017, 7:10 am GMTThree Dubai schools were awarded a total of AED120,000 in prize money following a competition launched by the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU) in partnership with Architaly Green Energy DMCC's Dubai Solar Schools Initiative.
As part of the partnership, the SMCCU launched a cultural competition called Dubai Vision - Creating the Future Capital of Solar Energy.
The competition, open to all schools, required students to imagine the future of Dubai as a solar city, supporting the Dubai Clean Energy Plan 2050, launched in 2015 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai.
With more than 30 participating schools across three categories, the three winning schools were Our Own High School Al Warqaa, New Indian Model School and Bud's Public School. Each school received a cash prize of AED40,000.
