Taaleem CEO wins Education Executive award
May 10, 2017, 10:50 am GMTTaaleem CEO Ros Marshall won the editorial choice award for Education Executive of the Year at the inaugural Education Journal Middle East Awards.
Marshall oversees Taaleem's portfolio of 11 schools in the UAE, with a particular focus on recruiting outstanding teachers.
Speaking to Education Journal Middle East after winning the award, Marshall said: "I feel very honoured, I feel very privileged, and really shocked, actually. What a wonderful achievement… and this is never about one individual, it's all about the team. It's a real privilege to be able to be a very small part of a wonderful organisation such as Taaleem, and I owe it to all of our members of staff."
Taaleem is also supporting the Mohammed bin Rashid Distinguished Students Programme, which offers Emirati students an opportunity to win scholarships in Dubai schools rated Outstanding and Very Good.
Commenting on Taaleem's support of the scholarship programme, Marshall said: "Our company was founded by a number of Emiratis and local investors and is still supported by a large number of investors who all want to achieve a greater quality of education for this country, and to be able to put something back from the education they first received. So we feel we're fulfilling our founders' mission by contributing and giving back to society and helping Emirati students from all manner of backgrounds and walks of life to see their opportunities as future leaders."
The Education Journal Middle East Awards were held on May 3 at Grosvenor House Dubai.
The event was sponsored by STS, Atlab, TELLAL Institute, Evolve Uniforms, iCademy Middle East, and Risalla Consulting.
