Our Own English High School, Sharjah - Girls named Primary Team of the Year
May 10, 2017, 1:05 pm GMTOur Own English High School, Sharjah - Girls took home the Primary Team of the Year award at the Education Journal Middle East Awards, which were held on May 3 at Grosvenor House Dubai.
The all girls' school realises the importance of moulding children's social and emotional skills in the primary years. The team works hard to foster confidence, independence and creativity through various enquiry-based learning projects and students are constantly challenged by teachers and peers through critical thinking and problem solving tasks.
Speaking to Education Journal ME after winning the award, the school's head of primary said: "This is an award for our children, and our teachers who have worked so hard. We're an all-girls school, perhaps one of the largest schools in the area, and with the numbers that we deal with, it's not easy to provide that kind of a holistic approach for the children. We try to provide that opportunity to every child. So as an all girls school, as a mid-market school, and as a brilliant school where we've always had some of the best results in the region, I think there's been a lot of effort from the team."
The highly commended primary team was Dubai International Academy. Other finalists included GEMS FirstPoint School - The Villa, and GEMS Our Own English High School, Dubai
The Education Journal Middle East Awards were held on May 3 at Grosvenor House Dubai.
The event was sponsored by STS, Atlab, TELLAL Institute, Evolve Uniforms, iCademy Middle East, and Risalla Consulting.
