Dubai to get new affordable British curriculum school
May 23, 2017, 6:15 am GMTNewlands School, one of 10 new schools set to open in the emirate in September, will offer an affordable British curriculum option for families in the Al Warqa area.
The school will open classes from FS1 to Year 6 in its first year, and will expand over the following years to include 1200 children up to Year 13.
The KHDA approved fees range from AED19,200 in FS1 to AED26,400 in Year 6. However, the school will offer a 10% founding fee discount in the first year
Newlands School will also offer five full academic scholarships for Emirati girls. Applications for scholarships must be submitted by June 22, 2017, and the exam will take place on June 29.
All subjects at Newlands School will incorporate the culture and background of Dubai so that students can relate them to the context in which they study.
Facilities at the school will include specialist art, media and music rooms, dedicated ICT labs and coding rooms, as well as a dedicated special educational needs resource centre.
Newlands School founder and chairperson Nasreen Kasuri commented: "We feel privileged to be able to offer a world-class English curriculum at affordable fees to discerning families in Dubai. Newlands School represents our 42 years of delivering the UK national curriculum and, in particular, IGCSE, O and A Level results across South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oman."
