Construction begins on Esol Education's new Dubai school
October 5, 2017, 6:15 am GMTEsol Education's new American curriculum school - Dunecrest American School - has broken ground at its campus near the Al Barari development in Dubai.
The school will open classes from pre-KG to Grade 10 in its first year of operation, offering an accredited American curriculum, based on AERO standards, with an option of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in Grades 11 and 12.
Esol is investing more than AED200 million in the school, which it states will be a "state-of-the-art facility, providing an advanced learning environment with a focus on connectivity, open spaces, digital resources and healthy living".
The ceremony was attended by KHDA director general Dr Abdulla Al Karam, who said: "We're happy to break ground on a school that will offer parents and students in Dubai more choice in world-class American and IB education. Esol Education has built a solid reputation for providing high-quality teaching and learning in Dubai, and has always placed great value on diversity within its schools. We look forward to seeing this trend continue at Dunecrest."
Esol Education chairman Walid Abushakra added: "Dunecrest's campus, optimally designed for leading-edge teaching and learning, will be home to a warm and caring school community, offering a holistic education that will be academically challenging, enabling them to fully develop as critical thinkers and lifelong learners."
