ADEK hosts inspection briefing session for Zayed University students
October 15, 2017, 6:10 am GMTThe Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge hosted a workshop explaining the Irtiqa'a inspection programme to 40 students in their final year at the College of Education and Social Work at Zayed University.
The students are due to graduate in June 2018 and are specialising in teaching English, Maths and Science from kindergarten to Grade 3.
Students were briefed on the inspection framework, performance standards and indicators, and on how inspection process has helped improve education standards and performance across schools in Abu Dhabi.
The UAE School Inspection Framework and its six-level of quality was demonstrated, in addition to types of inspection visits (periodic, monitoring, thematic, on-command). Students also learned more about a school's self-evaluation and school development process, as well as the improvement plan.
In an effort to Emiratise the inspection team, ADEK has trained 82 Emirati school inspectors.
